Ocean Breath

I took one of my favorite vacations last week – a whole week at the beach.  For me, there is no better place than by the water.  Peace can be found where the ocean stretches as far as the eye can see, and the sun’s rays bounce off the tips of the gentle waves that break just before the shore.

The dry sand, roughed up and tousled, is a map of where people walk the dog and the baby, jog or play football.   Tracks of the gulls who rush to the water’s edge to catch a snack and sand crabs that scuttle to the safety of their burrows leave their marks, too.

What I love most, though, is seeing the dolphins swim just off shore, gliding by in a slow, steady rhythm, an effortless movement of up and down, as their fins cut through the smooth surface of the water.

As I watch them, my breathing slows, and I match my inhale and exhale to their movements.   They aren’t in any hurry, and finally, neither am I.

  1. I can’t think of anywhere else I’d rather be myself. Cool post.

  2. I love little more than to walk along the shore ( that rhymes ! ). Lovely post.

    Very beautiful writing.

And so – there is an ocean of peace and love within – our very breath.

What we practice, we become. The process of breathing is as simple and basic as life itself.

To experience and appreciate the “life force” within our breath is the greatest source of personal peace, because living within the conscious feeling of this power will tame our wandering mind and allow us to be who we really are – our true self – in peace and love.

The gift of breath is everything – the beginning and end of human life. This is not something to be taken for granted, but is a reason, every moment of our life, to feel appreciation and infinite gratitude.

Those who are motivated from the longing and thirst withing, will find the way – it is their destiny.

This is a life long journey and we have this whole life to practice. The results DO come but perseverance is the key.

All dreams come true – in their own time.
